As I move closer to retirement, I would like to reflect on thirty six years with Timothy Taylor. When I joined we brewed about 20,000 barrels per year, of which one third went to tied estate and two thirds went to free trade, almost all clubs. There was only one free trade pub, The Woodman at Thunderbridge, taking 8 barrels a week. The bulk of the trade was our light mild Golden Best. By contrast, Landlord is now our most popular beer, providing 80% of our business and total barrelage is up to 63,000 per year, with 90% going to free trade pubs.
