Popular pub re-opens with new tenants at the helm

boltmakers-arms-insideWe are delighted that one of our pubs, The Boltmakers Arms in Keighley, re-opened its doors on Monday 12th December 12 noon after a refurbishment costing over £100,000.
Kathy and Craig Smith are running the pub along with daughter Laura. They have been tenants at the Goat’s Head in Steeton for the last 3 years and were approached by a few of their regulars who had heard that the Boltmakers’ tenancy was available. It seemed a perfect opportunity to take on another pub, particularly one with such a good reputation for cask ale that has been built up over the years by former tenant Phil Booth.

Craig has been in the pub industry for sixteen years and is very much looking forward to continuing the Boltmakers Arms’ tradition of a welcoming community pub with friendly staff, a well- kept range of the finest Timothy Taylor’s ales and pub games such as darts and dominos.

Heike Funke, Operations Director of Timothy Taylor’s pub estate stated: “I am delighted to have such a keen and enthusiastic family on board to take over one of our flagship pubs, and look forward to seeing it thrive in the coming months.”

Fans of the Boltmakers Arms do not need to worry about the charm and character of the pub being lost. The refurbishment has been very sympathetic, with lots of Timothy Taylor’s memorabilia being used to help tell the ‘All for that taste of Taylor’s’ story and link the pub to the award winning Boltmaker ale. Several regulars arrived at 12 to see the new look pub and all seemed delighted with what they found.
