Woolly Sheep is Yorkshire’s Favourite Pub – Baa None!

July 2014 – Having come second last year The Woolly Sheep, Skipton has gone one better and won the top prize as the ‘Welcome to Yorkshire’ Pub of the Year. The competition, which is also sponsored by the Yorkshire Post, attracted thousands of votes for over 600 of the Yorkshire’s very best pubs and bars.

A delighted Andy Goodall, Manager of the Timothy Taylor’s pub, said ‘We thought we had done well last year but to win is absolutely amazing. We are very lucky to have the support of a fantastic team – they are simply the best. The secret is just a lot of hard work, making sure we offer the best service, the best beer and the best food possible.’

He added ‘The great thing about this award is that votes come from customers. We have many loyal customers and I’d like to thank them for voting for us.’

Timothy Taylor’s Operations Manager Heike Funke commented ‘To win such a prestigious competition is a fantastic achievement and is testimony to the great job Andy and his team are doing at the Woolly Sheep.’

The Woolly Sheep is situated on the main street of Skipton, known as the ‘Gateway to the Dales’ and recently voted the most desirable place in the country to live. All the range of Timothy Taylor’s beers are on sale and complemented by terrific English pub food, with the emphasis on fresh, locally sourced produce.
