The Devonshire in Grassington Features on New MONOPOLY: Yorkshire Dales Edition Board

A brand-new official MONOPOLY: Yorkshire Dales Edition - featuring the great and good of the region, including our very own Devonshire pub in Grassington - has been launched.

The game sees bespoke property spaces and cards – and The Devonshire features on the 'Piccadilly' yellow space on the board.

This unique version of the world’s most famous family board game hit the shops on 26 March 2024, just in time for Easter.

Winning Moves UK - an official MONOPOLY maker - has produced the brand-new MONOPOLY: Yorkshire Dales Edition board game, under license from Hasbro, a leading toy and game company. Winning Moves UK makes MONOPOLY editions for places all over the world, including high-profile popular tourist places, such as Palm Beach, Dubai and The Hamptons.

When news of the game was announced in 2023, the public was invited to suggest Dales landmarks and organisations to feature on the board.

Getting to land on ‘Mayfair,’ the game’s top-ranking space, is Bolton Abbey.

At the other end of the board, ‘Old Kent Road’ - the game’s most affordable square - is Aysgarth Falls, on account of it being a very high-profile historic landmark.

In between are leading Dales favourites, including Fountains Abbey, Malham Cove and Masham Market – with in all, 30+ Dales landmarks and organisations featuring in the game.

"The response from the public to MONOPOLY: Yorkshire Dales Edition has been overwhelming," says John Keen-Tomlinson, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK. "A very big thank you to everyone who sent in nominations and congratulations to everyone featured in the game."

In addition to the bespoke squares, all of the tokens are customised, replacing the traditional MONOPOLY counters with – amongst others – a Craven ram and a slab of Wensleydale cheese.

The MONOPOLY: Yorkshire Dales Edition is available to purchase now at Waterstones, House and Home and extensively online, including at Booghe.co.uk and Amazon.co.uk

You can also buy it for a lower price direct from The Devonshire pub, and through their website where it will be added soon.
