October 2014 – The Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire Dr Ingrid Roscoe, accompanied by the High Sherriff of West Yorkshire, Annie Dent and the Mayor of Keighley, Graham Mitchell, visited Timothy Taylor’s brewery in Keighley last week to commission the company’s new 10,000 kgs/hr boiler. They were met by Managing Director Charles Dent who introduced them to representatives from the companies involved in the project.
The party was then given a tour of the brewery and the distribution depot by Head Brewer Peter Eells and Transport Director Paul Marklew. During lunch at the Lord Rodney, Dr Roscoe met invited members of Keighley’s business community and representatives from the nearby Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.
After this, the group moved on for a tour of local family run business Byworth Boilers, – the company that made the boiler.
After the visit Charles Dent said: ‘It was a huge honour to receive the Lord Lieutenant. She showed genuine interest and enthusiasm for the whole brewing process and also the manufacturing of the boiler. She was particularly interested inUnity, Byworth’s unique computer controlled system for the boiler.’
Everyone at Timothy Taylor’s is proud that the whole project was developed, built and commissioned in Keighley.
