Keighley Beer Festival Coming Up
September 2014 – This week is Keighley’s 26th annual beer festival. From Thursday 25th – Saturday 27th September, locals and visitors can enjoy a wide range of real ales from around the world. And of course, as it’s our local, Timothy Taylor’s will be there.
The event organised by members of Keighley and Craven Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), will take place in the town centre at Central Hall on Alice Street, where it all began back in 1986.
We will be showcasing our limited edition autumn beer, Havercake – ABV 4.7%. For the third year running, 10p from every pint or bottle sold will be donated to ABF, The Soldiers’ Charity. A great reason to give it a try!
Havercake was first brewed in 2002 to celebrate the Tercentenary of The Duke of Wellington’s Regiment, now part of the Yorkshire Regiment. It is described by Peter Eells, Head Brewer as: ‘a robust Yorkshire ale brewed to match the qualities of the famous West Riding Regiment – strength, balance, clarity and a good head’.
Over the past two years, the brewing of this special ale has raised over £14,000 for the ABF. To find out more about this story, we have full the article here http://timothytaylor.co.uk/news#.
We will also be featuring the one and only Boltmaker – 4% ABV – which was famously crowned Supreme Champion Beer of Britain at the 2014 CAMRA Great British Beer Festival held in London’s Olympia last month. Boltmaker is a well balanced Yorkshire bitter with a full measure of maltiness and a hoppy aroma. Surely Britain’s Best Beer has to be on your list to sample?
We hope to see you at the Festival! If you get chance to try one of our beers, we’d love to hear your comments and see your pics, please post to our twitter and facebook pages.
