Charity Caribbean Night at the Woolly Sheep Raises Almost £3,000 for Bliss

11/03/2019

Timothy Taylor’s owned, Woolly Sheep Inn in Skipton, North Yorkshire ran a sold-out Caribbean-themed charity night on Friday 1 March in aid of Bliss, the charity for babies born premature or sick.

The event was organised by marathon runner Matthew Whitwam, whose own son Henry was born very early at 28 weeks and was in intensive care for the first three months of his life.

The night was a huge success, with new Head Chef Dan McGill serving up delicacies such as Goat Curry paired with Red Stripe lager and superb Jerk Chicken Wings with Spiced Rum.

A fantastic £2,982.91 was raised on the night, with the Woolly Sheep also running a charity drive on Facebook to raise more funds.

The Woolly Sheep and Matthew would like to thank Bon Coer Fine Wines in Melsonby for donating the wine, R&J Butchers in Ripon for donating the goat, Class One in Skipton for helping out with fruit and vegetables and Tarbett’s Fishmongers in Leeds for providing the salt cod.
